They are superficially right on the money, especially with first impressions. Inigo's first appearance within his Paralogue (Paralogue 06: A Man for Flowers) shows us a sprightful young man that is always there for the ladies. Chivalrous one would call him, if not for the fact he is more than ready to impress the young lass! How?! By fending off all brigands! The paralogue colors Inigo strongly as someone that is quite chipper compared to, let’s say Lucina or Gerome, despite the horrific future to come. He’s very much carefree, even seeming more interested in tea time than following after Chrom and the shepherds after the paralogue.

Aside from his laidback personality, making him easily adaptable to the realm of another time, he has this “delusional optimism”. You can say he’s basically throwing up daisies everywhere he walks and smiling all around. Inigo’s positive outlook shows in Lucina’s support where he continuously comments on her grim demeanor, saying that she should smile a little bit more. Seeing that she is an influential member of the Shepherds, her behavior easily infects others. His smile doesn’t falter in any of the supports, at least in the beginning. It’s also apparent that he tries his best to cheer those around him as much as he can—to show them happiness despite their circumstances. If needed, he is ready to tickle any man and woman to achieve a quick chuckle or small smile. In each of his supports, he is shown to be upbeat and, of course, mentioning girls.

Inigo has made courting girls quite a hobby—if not a lifestyle. He either hits on his female supports or he’s talking about girls in them or the male supports. His own father questions Inigo’s motives in going back into the past. How does he reply? His aspiration is to have women throughout the realm swoon solely by the mention of his name rather than stop the uninviting future from recurring (though the latter is also one of his goals). We can say that it’s an unhealthy impulse… He literally hits on whoever he can and is willing to bring his comrades and/or friends only to use them to make him look better as a person or in comparison. The strange thing is that despite inheriting Olivia’s large luck growth, he ultimately fails at getting ladies. If you don’t marry him in-game, he would probably never ever find someone with how bad his pick-up lines are. To be frank, this habit is so bad that he doubts himself to being faithful enough to NOT hit on other girls when married. All of his supports have threatened his life if he does, yet he still leaves them with uncertainty.

In this behavior, it is discovered that Inigo is emotional. Though generally high-spirited, he can easily be shot down once a girl turns him down. This will be much like a scar on his side and it will affect him for days. Maybe after some crying and wailing—he has admitted to his father that he cries at the drop of hat and is pretty sensitive. It shows that maybe Inigo is not one to be considered the most mature. In some of his male supports, he easily falls into being childish along with his friends such as Owain, Brady, or Gerome—throwing tantrums whenever it is warranted with no trouble (like someone is getting the ladies’ attention). He’s also not one above patronizing others! In Owain’s support, he teases his friend and compares his passions to “playing around”. It’s not to say he’s as cold as Severa, but he’s immature when he wants to be. Otherwise, he’s quite mindful of others. For example, he understands and avoids flirting with Lucina because she is royalty. You have to be considerate if you want anyone to smile!

With all of this, it should be easy to see how Inigo is a normal young man with adolescent dreams of FINDING THE GIRL. Truth be told, the initial reason why he even developed this flirting habit is advice his mother gave him. She told him, “the fastest way for a man to practice bravery was to talk to women”. Why? Because Inigo takes after his mother in the aspect that he’s terribly shy. That still shows now. He easily gets embarrassed depending on the topic! Especially his dancing. There’s also the fact that he wouldn’t even let his own mother see his dancing despite how she’s the one that teaches him in the future. In a way, this trait is a memento from his mother that stayed with him to this day. He’s truly his mother’s child in this regard.

All of this seems quite normal—like he has no problems. That’s actually far from true like with all the quirky children.

"I couldn't complain or show any weakness."

To say that Inigo is without worries and issues is a complete lie. He’s quite pessimistic especially since he’s so delicate. In an illustration, he is the boy of flowers being surrounded by blades of war. Despite his awkward disposition, he is expected to strong—to be invincible. Being anything less would water down morale and that can jeopardize their mission. Though not all his smiles are fake, not all of them are genuine. He puts up a strong front in so others need not worry about him—he smiles so others can forget that they’re in a hellhole.

We can't forget that he also loses his parents... He dances by his mother’s grave and he speaks about this like it’s normal—as if it’s something he’s used to. While some of his friends show so much emotion towards their parents’ first encounter whether it’s gradual or initial, he keeps those emotions to himself because war told the crybaby to be numb.

"I wish I could be shocked at this, but the dead rose all the time in my future.
Friends, neighbors—they all became Risen… And they had to be taken down.
I’ve done this so many times now. I barely feel anything at all…"

No matter what anyone tells you or what you think, Inigo is someone torn and influenced by war. That doesn’t mean that all of his personality traits have been lost. He is still who he is—a big, fat, and bashful crybaby that likes smiling and girls.

Character Abilities:

Inigo's starting class is Mercenary! Being a starting class that uses swords only, it shouldn't be less than obvious that Inigo is skilled with a blade. This class generally has a pretty high growth in Skill stat though it is well-balanced across the board. This combined with Olivia's inherited Luck stat growth, which makes up for the class' shortcomings, makes Inigo one tough cookie. (NOTE: I promoted him to Bow Knight.)

ARMSTHRIFT ─ When activated, the following attack does not consume weapon use. Unlike most skills, there is no indication when Armsthrift activates.
PATIENCE ─ A skill that increases Hit and Avoid by 10 when an enemy initiates a battle.
LUCK +4 ─ A skill that increases Luck by 4.
ASTRA ─ A skill that allows user to perform 5 consecutive attacks with halved damage.

It seemed like even lady luck isn't falling for his charm—not that she ever did anyway.

He dramatically sighed while he rested his head on the palms of his hands. Once again, he was in the barracks. Alone. With an insanely red cheek. Could you guess what happened? Yes... Inigo, once again, was turned down by not one, but five girls in the matter of an hour. He could have said this should have been recorded in some kind of world records book, but instead it was recorded into his journal. Do take not that his eyes were a little red and puffy since, of course, he took the time to cry to himself after his utter rejection.

"Have to pull yourself together now, Inigo." He said out loud to himself as he breathed in, then breathed out. Moderating his breathing proved to be an obstacle when he would be a crying mess, but he could at least stand for it at that moment. "Just write this up and--"

Oh, gods, here comes the tears! In order to write, one had to recollect that event and it was painful. "Is your father a thief? Because he stole the sparkle from the stars, and put it in your eyes," was a legitimate opener!

"It was perfect...!" he started to sniffle with the quill in his hand, "though I guess I did deserve it from that one girl..."

Since, y'know, her family was once at stabbing distance with a thief that was trying to rob their home. After a small groan as he wrote down everything she said to him, he only brightened.

"The day is still young!" That was right, that was right! "There are still more fish in the sea--"

"Inigo...!"

Oh, god, mother was calling. He better hide his little black pamphlet before she finds it. That would bring him utmost embarrassment...
